The We, Who we are.

The People Over Petro Coalition (POPCO) is committed to supporting member organizations working with communities on the frontlines to resist the petrochemical and plastic build-out that worsens climate change.

We are also committed to the workers of our member organizations who oftentimes work with limited resources, long hours, experience vicarious trauma and moral injury, and lack health care resources.

The Climate Movement’s success is put at risk by ‘nonprofit’ work environments and expectations, constant turnover, attrition, and staff burnout. POPCO is developing an internal peer support structure to champion the mental well-being of our siblings in this work.
